When you kill the brain, the other dude gives you a vault key.

Any idea what that is for?

There's a locked room in the lighthouse nearby where you defeated the brain. That's what the key for.

If I remember correctly there's a room in the lighthouse with some rewards in.

I think that's what the key is for.
