Hello there,
I will put a guide for how to flash your Samsung U600 (ONLY SAMSUNG U600) I have to say that I never tried it out. I have no Samsung u600 at this moment because I had a slide error movement on my phone. Maybe it will get fixed or I will get a new mobile. And when I get a new mobile the firmware version can be different then the one I had. So mabye I need to flash it later. My firmware version on that Samsung u600 mobile is: U600XXGG3 This firmware is also the newest version firmware for this phone with some bugs fixed[LINK FOR INFORMATION] I can play games and software with that firmware version. Guide to install Mario the game for example, that work on my firmware (look at this thread for more information LINK) Remember that this is at your own risk! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ :::Samsung u600 Flashing Guide "from the internet"::: Needed software: -Optiflash for the Samsung u600: [Download here] -Firmware version U600XXGG3 [Download here] Languages in u600xxGG3: Deutsch, english, italiano, francais, espanol, nederlands, svenska, dansk, portugues, suomi, norsk, turkce, magyar, polski, cestina, slovencina, and some weird one that looks like EAAnvika 1. Make sure you have U600 Optiflash, a Samsung SGH-U600 flash file and the original samsung USB cable that came with the phone. 2. Launch Optiflash and click on 'Options > Settings > Generic' - Select 'Customer T: d830/d840/d910 (USB) - Set 'Flash Erase Passes' to '1' - Set 'Operation Passes' to 'Default' - Uncheck all checkboxes except 'Differences only' 3. Select the tab 'Flash and Verify' - Browse to and select your firmware (*.s3) 4. Select the tab 'Default Contents' If you have a file *.cts with the firmware *.s3: - Select radio button “S-Record with content” - Browse to and select your *.cts file If you do not have the file *.cts: - Click on 'S-Record only' - Click 'OK' 5. Connect the phone to the computer via the USB cable.(in the phone click connect to pc studio) 6. Remove your SIM and microSD card and battery from the phone which will turn the phone off .(leaving USB cable in) You will see leds on. 7. Whilst holding down the * key on the phone, briefly press the ON button. Your computer will recognise the device as Samsung USB Mobile. 8. Return to Optiflash, click on 'Options > Settings > COM Port' - Select the COM port your phone uses (If you're not sure, you can find out by: Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Ports (COM and LTP)) - Select 921600. - In Second COM Port select 'NONE' - Click 'OK' Lastly, click 'Flash' The flash procedure takes approximately 15 minutes and will be finished when the message 'All is Well' appears above the green progression bar. A full reset should not be necessary once the firmware is upgraded, however, if you want to do it type *2767*3855# then wait one full minute before you restart your phone. To check your existing firmware type *#1234# into your handset. If your phone restarts in a different language follow the language selection process: MENU (left touch button) > SETTINGS (bottom right icon) > PHONE SETTINGS (2nd option) > LANGUAGE (1st option) If the phone freezes after flashing you may need to wipe your regions. Go to misc settings in the optiflash and tick differences only, erase all unused regions and extended protection. You have to make sure that under the read ranges on the read tab in the optiflash settings is 0x20000000 - 0x21ffffff because if it isn't, it may wipe your imei. You can check your imei by typing *#06#. If the phone is originally from Asia you can flash it with another asian firmware without wiping the regions but if you want to flash it to a European firmware from being originally asian, you would have to wipe it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Faqs/Problems/Tips: Someone wrote: u600xxGG3 working great on my phone that originally came with U600DXGD2. I had trouble flashing at first because I only ticked "differences only" you must tick "differences only" AND "extended protection" AND "erase all unused regions" when flashing from one region to another. Otherwise you get the boot-up freeze like I did when I flashed from DX to GG. Last edited by chackie; 29-08-2007 at 06:17 PM. |

Thanx Chackie
Have you tried this update? I wonder if it'll make the games work. And does anyone know if everything you had on the phone before will get wiped out? |

Hi, anyone know of or have a problem with the u600 rebooting itself when txting? A quick search on other forums show its a common problem with most taking it back to the shop purchased from for repair. I bought mine on ebay so dont have that option.
If anyone has flashed to a different version to rectify this, I'd be interested to know. My current version is MSGC4, not sure if that's old or new so again, any advice would be apreciated! |

You can first try to do a full reset: type 2767*3855# then wait one full minute before you restart your phone.
Otherwise you can consider to do a firmware update if you allready have the latest firmware on it. Maby it is a software problem in the mobile and can it be fixed with a firmware update.. |

I'll try a full reset later thanks. I'm reluctant to do a firmware update just in case it results in a dead phone (unlikely but still a risk). So I'm hoping somebody replies whom has had the same problem and found a fix.
Thanks again. |

im having exactly the same problem with my u600, it just freezes and restarts when i try to text only had it just over 1 month! phones 4 u said they've never heard of a phone doing it, and samsung seemed suprised to! samsung said if its still under warranty to take it to a repair centre, carphone warehouse in certain places is apparently one and other phone booths! id try there rather than messing around with software updates! maybe if you dont have warranty mayvbe you could pay a small amount!
I really wish id never got this phone its pissing me off and ive got it for anouther 18 months! the sounds crap to! |
