I've downloaded a few ringtones on my samsung t619 but i'm not able to set as ringtones. I can set as alarm but not ringtone. I was told by tmobile assoc. that new phones are copyright protected so iwould have to purchase through tmoble. i think they just want to make more money off me. Any help?
Hi there,
There is currently no way to directly set MP3's as ringtones on the Samsung T619.
However, this phone apparently allows you to set 3GP files as ringtones, therefore, I would suggest downloading a converter (I think this program (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html) should be suitable for this conversion), save any mp3 you wish to download to your PC, convert to 3GP, then transfer to your phone via cable, infrared or bluetooth.
EDIT: I've now found another method of which requires you to download Samsung PC Studio...
1. Download Samsung PC Studio (http://www.samsung.com/support/productsupport/download/FileView.aspx?cttfileid=1127840&type=Mobile+Phone&typecode=100100&subtype=Mobile+Phone&subtypecode=100101&cmssubtypecode=&model=SGH-T619&filetype=SW&language=)
2. Once you've installed it, load it up and click on the 'Manage Multimedia Files'. Here, you can add your music files, and convert them to the necessary format.
3. Find your mp3 ringtones in Windows Explorer and rename them to end in .3gp instead of .mp3.
4. In PC Studio, click on 'Transfer Files', then just drag your (renamed) 3gp files to the MUSIC folder in the phone window.
Let me know how you get on.

Umm you can make an MP3 your ringtone with this phone. I have this phone and set tones I download here as ringtones all the time. The tone just can't be too long. So if you keep the tone relativly short you won't have any problems

This is how I do it on this phone... I bought a mp3 tone from tmobile which allow you to set it as a tone... set whatever you bought as the tone then go back into your list... whatever you dl click that as save it won't let you but just hit save then hit the 'c' button and it shows your old song still set but just hit save.... Now go back in to set your tone and look it is the one you just downloaded!
